Quincy Pondexter hit the game winning shot against Marquette in the 1st round. No heroics were needed Saturday as Washington pulled off its second upset in a row by beating New Mexico 82-64.
Pondexter led the way again with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Isiah Thomas and Matthew Bryan-Amaning added 15 points each.
Washington is a hot team at the right time! They are playing with great chemistry and look like they are out there having fun. With athletes and scorers like Pondexter and a point guard with good decision making like Thomas, Washington has the ability to pull off more shockers!
Washington will play the winner of West Virginia/Missouri. Whoever Washington gets better be ready, because Washington is going to give them hell.
