West Virginia Loses Darryl "Truck" Bryant For The Rest Of The NCAA Tournament
The West Virginia Mountaineers took a big loss Tuesday as they prepare with their Sweet Sixteen matchup against Washington Thursday.
Starting point guard Darryl "Truck" Bryany will miss the rest of the tournament after breaking his right foot.
Bryant was averaging 9.3 ppg, 3.1 apg, and 2.2 rpg. It is unclear if Bryant broke his foot in practice or during last week's tournament games.
Coach Bob Huggins said Bryant complained about his foot hurting and the break was discovered when they took him for X-rays.
Bryant will be repleaced by Joe Mazzulla who is averaging 2.2 ppg and 1.8 rebounds. Mazzulla has had 15 assists in the last three games.
Bryant was having a rough end to the season. He had a terrible time in the Big East Tournament in his hometown of New York City. Bryant was a non-factor in the Moutaineer's run to the title.
In the three games he only only scored 2 points total and shot a combined (1-13) from the field while seeing his minutes stop drastically.
